Eco-Aware

Things to remember when diving

Dive carefully, being aware of equipment and maintaining good buoyancy control to avoid damaging sensitive aquatic life

Do your homework before the dive; know how to passively interact with aquatic life to avoid damaging, stressing, or provoking the species you may encounter §  Respect the creatures you encounter as you are a visitor to their home

Remember the rule of taking only pictures and leaving only bubbles [unless you use a rebreather!]

Respect local laws concerning the collection of game, disturbance of specific areas and interactions with protected species

Dive with responsible operators who have environmentally sustainable business practices

Report observations of damage or ill health of the aquatic ecosystem to the relevant authorities

Participate in and support activities, which protect the environment in which you like to dive!
